ALL POPCORN SALES FORMS ARE DUE by the end of the meeting on Monday, October 13th!
Here are the events for October 2025:
Monday, 6 – Regular troop meeting - we will continue work on advancement and preparation for the upcoming Fall 2025 Camporee at Beaumont.
Friday, 10 to Sunday, 12 – Fall 2025 Camporee at Beaumont - Shippey -
Camping - the troop will be tent camping at the Shippey Camporee area at Beaumont.
Gear - Please note it will most likely be somewhat hot and humid with a potential for rain during the day and most likely variable hot/humid to slightly chilly overnight so please make sure you are prepared! Plan for variable weather, especially cool / cold in the morning with a chance for rain during the day and cooler / colder at night.
Make sure to bring:
Cool weather clothing - It's early October in Missouri so the weather will most likely be cool to cold in the morning and warmer with a chance for rain during the course of the day. We recommend dressing in layers of loose fitting clothing to best regulate heat.
Rain gear - while it will be warm during the week, it is always a good idea to have rain gear handy as the weather can change quickly.
Closed toed shoes WITH EXTRA PAIRS OF SOCKS - we cannot emphasize this enough - Scouts will be walking throughout the Camporee events which can be somewhat rough terrain in places.
Water bottles - yes, it is very possible to get dehydrated at any time of day! Make sure to have a good water bottle / Nalgene / canteen / water containment device on hand that is filled and available.
Cool to cold weather sleeping bag OR a fitted and flat sheet set with a light to medium weight blankets and a sleep pad - for all Scouts and adults we recommend a good cool / cold sleeping bag OR sheets with light / medium weight blankets as well as a good sleep pad for comfort and may want to include an extra light blanket as well given it is not unusual to get a bit chilly at times overnight. Adult leaders may have extra sleeping bags and pads so please ask if you need to borrow something for this event
Medications - please remember to send all prescribed medications and / or dietary supplements in their original packaging with explicit dosing instructions included. The information listed on the bottle / package can be very important in an emergency. Also, all medications need to be checked in with the designated adult leader on site for safe keeping.
Food - We will be cooking as patrols for this event. Any Scouts that bring food will need to keep it in a container with a secure lid to help keep local creatures from getting to it. PLEASE DO NOT KEEP FOOD IN YOUR TENTS OR SHELTERS! Nocturnal animals WILL FIND A WAY to get to your food and make your life miserable if you are not careful! The cost will be $30 per person for this event.
Please leave your electronic devices and / or anything you do not want lost, stolen or broken at home!
The adults on site will have mobile phones available in case of emergency.
We will meet at the John Calvin Church parking lot at 6:00 PM on Friday night, October 10th
to get everyone checked in on time. Please make sure everyone is on time so we can get to camp at a reasonable hour and get set up!
